Meet Izzy, the creative behind our newest designs
It’s not every day you find someone who clicks with a team straight away, but that’s exactly what happened when Isabel Pearce joined us earlier this year. Our team and the way they gel and work with each other is so important here at Black Nova Designs, so hiring new staff is always a big step.
A talented graphic designer with a first-class BA Hons in Graphic Design from the University of Gloucestershire, Izzy joined us in May quickly settled in and started making her mark. From her very first week, she brought a fresh perspective, strong creative ideas and a collaborative mindset that has already made a huge difference to the work we do.
Now that she’s officially passed her probation, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce her properly and shine a spotlight on just how valuable she’s become to our clients and our team.
A natural fit from day one
“This is the quickest and easiest I’ve ever settled into a job,” Izzy told us. “Usually, it takes me a full year to feel like I’ve found my feet. But at Black Nova, the small, close-knit culture made it so much easier. It’s relaxed, personal and everyone really cares about what they do. That kind of passion and culture rubs off on you.”
Before joining us, Izzy held two in-house design roles that helped shape her skills and direction. One involved designing an app aimed at university students, something she was uniquely qualified for, having just left university herself. In her second role, she stepped up to take on leadership responsibilities, developing brand guidelines across multiple sub-brands and acting as the go-to person for design strategy.
Those experiences confirmed something she already suspected: her heart lay in digital design, especially websites. And it’s clear from her early projects with us that she has a knack for blending brilliant aesthetics with user-friendly structure, something that will reap huge benefits for our customers.
Offering more value to our clients
Having Izzy on board allows us to expand our services and offer even more value to our clients. Until now, many of our clients came to us for exceptional web development and tech support but sometimes needed to source branding or design elsewhere. That’s no longer the case, and we can get it all done in-house.

Elevating our marketing, too
Izzy’s arrival hasn’t just benefited our clients; it’s also helped us raise our own game when it comes to sharing what we do. As a business, we’ve always been passionate about web development and IT, but having a full-time designer on the team has made it easier for us to showcase our work, refine our own visuals and communicate our services more clearly to potential customers. Izzy and Danielle, our sales and marketing director, have been working closely to develop our marketing materials, social media content and the way we approach new projects. Izzy’s ability to create compelling visuals helps Danielle tell our story in a more engaging way.
Danielle shared her thoughts on the latest member to join her team

A vision for the future
When we asked Izzy what success looks like in her role, her answer was clear: “I want to keep creating websites with strong user experience and design and push creative boundaries where I can. Eventually, I’d love to help expand our branding services even further, maybe even mentor a junior designer down the line. That would be a great way to grow and give something back too.”
She’s also focused on continuing to learn, finding new sources of inspiration, and using downtime to develop both hard and soft skills. Her favourite projects so far include the websites for Shropshire Getaways and Not Just Pets, two businesses close to her heart as someone who loves travel and animals.
The person behind the designs
Outside of work, Izzy is just as creative and passionate in other areas of her life. She loves paddleboarding, kayaking, long walks and dabbling in different crafts – her latest hobby is making trinket dishes from air-dry clay. She’s also a huge foodie and happiest when surrounded by her family, friends or near the sea.
When asked what makes her happiest, she said: “Spending time with people I care about and baking or going out for food! I love the seaside too; it’s my happy place.”
She’s already become a much-loved part of the team, both for her professional talents and her easygoing, thoughtful nature. And we’re looking forward to sampling some of her baking in due course.
