Black Nova Designs began as an idea all the way back in 2012 and just look how far we’ve come! Our founder Kyle had always been passionate about making technology more accessible to businesses of all sizes, but turning that vision into a reality wasn’t straightforward, especially while working full time. That was until he met Danielle, who is now his wife and business partner!

An amazing journey begins

Danielle freely admits that back when she first met Kyle, she knew nothing about IT. It was Kyle’s visits to her desk to help her figure out why her computer was misbehaving that helped them get to know each other in the first place, but that lack of knowledge has turned out to be a superpower. Now, Danielle can place herself in the shoes of customers who know they need IT support but have no idea where to start. Plus, what she lacked in technical know-how at the start of her journey, she more than made up for in sales talent, marketing knowledge and sheer drive.

With her determination and business instincts complementing Kyle’s expertise, the two built Black Nova Designs from a side hustle into a full-time business. First, it gave them both jobs that supported their family and eventually demanded that they employ their first staff member. Fast forward ten years and they now run a thriving office in Calne, employing a talented team of five.

And where did the name Black Nova Designs come from? It all stems from Kyle’s lifelong fascination with outer space, a supernova is a powerful and luminous explosion of a star. As a child, sci-fi stories and films would spark his imagination and have him daydreaming about adventures beyond the limits of his everyday world. So, when it was time to build a brand identity, he wanted to capture that same spirit of limitless possibility and new beginnings.

You’re invited to our 10th anniversary event!

Over the past decade, Black Nova Designs has grown into a trusted web design, hosting and IT provider for businesses across multiple industries. And now, it’s time to celebrate how far we’ve come. To mark this milestone, we’re hosting a 10th Birthday Bash on Saturday, the 21st of June at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon.

The evening will be the perfect opportunity to celebrate, connect and reflect on our journey so far. Our guests will enjoy a welcome drink and a delicious dinner followed by an inspiring talk from TEDx speaker and adaptive athlete Jamie McAnsh. Proceeds from both ticket sales and a raffle on the night will support Best Mates, Black Nova Designs’ charity of the year for 2025. This Swindon-based non-profit aims to be a ‘Best Mate’ to anyone who needs it and offer support with financial, emotional, mental health challenges. There will be a professional photographer on hand to capture the event and it’s set to be a truly inspirational and fun evening, so we’d love for you to be part of it.

Tickets are £75 per person and include a welcome drink and dinner, everyone is welcome – there will be a cash bar for more drinks throughout the evening!
