How we helped a local vet practice grow with seamless IT solutions

Over the past four years we’ve had the pleasure of supporting Chalkland Vets, a growing independent veterinary practice and fellow Wiltshire-based business. Ever since they opened their doors in Chippenham in 2019, the team at Chalkland Vets has been focused on serving their animal and human customers to the best of their ability and growing their business.

Since that launch in 2019 they have opened two practices, one in Melksham and one in Corsham, all with our help ensuring their IT systems run smoothly. With another new Chalkland Vet practice set to open in our hometown of Calne (well, it’s where our offices are!) later this month, we wanted to share our small part in their continued success.

When Chalkland Vets first reached out to us, they were struggling with a range of IT hiccups that were affecting their day-to-day operations. Given that their ethos is to treat every animal that comes through their doors as if they are their own pets, it is essential that things run as smoothly as possible and communication with customers is open and easy.

Their label printer wasn’t working, which caused a lot of stress for the team – who needed to print hundreds of drug labels every day. Their phones were also malfunctioning, issues with clients trying to contact the clinic for updates about their pets or trying to book appointments.

They got in touch with us to help them find solutions that would enable them to grow the business and do justice to their aims. Our team worked with the Chalkland team to assess their IT and phone systems, identifying how he could help.

We then got on with fixing these issues quickly and ensuring everything worked perfectly. It was a relief for the team at Chalkland Vets, who no longer had to spend endless hours troubleshooting technical problems.

As Chalkland Vets continued to grow, we provided the necessary IT support for their new branch clinics in Melksham and Corsham. Here’s a comprehensive list of the different tech support we have provided as part of our work with Chalkland Vets:

  • Supplied and installed fibre broadband services to all premises
  • Supplied and installed VOIP (voice over internet protocol) services to all premises
  • Supplied and installed all new computers including keyboard/mouse/monitors
  • Completely wired and installed structured cabling in the vets’ practices including server comms cabinet
  • Installed and set up wallboard TVs to display pet care information, stats and adverts to their customers
  • Set up and deployed the entire networking, including reliable Wi-Fi, throughout their premises
  • Deployed our MSP stack of software to keep them secure and Cyber Essentials Ready compliant, which consistently monitors performance of the hardware
  • Supplied and maintain (via continuously monitoring and updates) label and A4 printers
  • Provide Patch Management to keep all devices up to date

Our ongoing support has made it easy for Chalkland Vets to continue delivering excellent care for their clients. We’re proud to work with such a dedicated team and look forward to supporting them as they open their newest branch in Calne this month. Plus, it’s testament to Kyle’s skills and expertise and our collective customer service skills that we enjoy such a great relationship with Chalkland Vets – and here’s to the next five years and beyond.
